Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT)

 

**여권이나 스터디 퍼밋 등에 변경사항이 있는경우 2019년 2월 11일 - 15일 사이에 English Language Institute의 데스크로  제출해주시기 바랍니다. 원본서류는 복사 후에 돌려드릴 것입니다.

 

Before your first day:

We encourage you to “follow/like” us on Facebook, WeChat (MITT_International) and Twitter. Here you will find updates regarding the Institute, program information, news and events. Note: this information will also be available on our  website 

 

  • Review the campus map (attached).
  • Make sure your accommodations are arranged. If you are looking for a new place to live, we encourage you to consider MITT’s Homestay Program

·         Winter in Winnipeg can be quite cold and we usually get a lot of snow. We recommend that you bring or purchase appropriate clothing for the cold weather.  You will need warm, winter clothing such as a winter jacket, boots, hat and mittens/gloves. WHERE: English Language Institute at 67 Scurfield Blvd.

WHO: 모든 학생들 대상

WHAT: 첫 날, 도착하시면 정문 앞에 학생분의 성함, 교실, 그리고 선생님이 적혀있는 포스터가 붙어 있을 것입니다. 8시 45분 정도에 도착하시어 학생분의 교실을 찾는데에 여유로운 시간을 갖기를 바랍니다.

WHAT: 오리엔테이션: 수업시간, 연휴, 출석 규정, 학생 보험 등과 같은 정보를 얻으실 수 있습니다. *점심식사와 음료가 제공됩니다.

Important Information

 

Health Insurance ***NEW FOR FALL 2018***

Effective September 1, 2018 International Students are no longer covered by Manitoba Health and will have to purchase private health insurance from their post-secondary institutions.  MITT will charge international students for a mandatory health insurance plan provided by Guard.me.  You have been notified of the cost of your insurance and must pay this prior to the start of the program.  For more information, please visit the international student health insurance page on the MITT website. The insurance payment can be made at the front desk of the English Language Institute (67 Scurfield Blvd).

Your insurance card will be sent directly to you by email from Guard.me.  It is important that your email address is up to date with MITT.

If you qualify for coverage by Manitoba Health, you must submit an Opt-out request by February 21, 2019.  If you do not submit an opt-out request by the deadline, or if your request is not approved, you must pay for the mandatory insurance plan offered by MITT. 

Student ID Cards

Pictures for Student ID card photos can be taken at the front desk of the English Language Institute.  Student ID cards will be printed and available to be picked up at the front desk within 2-3 business days of having your photo taken.  A student ID card is needed to purchase a student bus pass (Peggo card).

 

Confirmation of Enrolment Letters

 

Confirmation of Enrolment letters will be distributed to students by the end of the first week of the program. Letters are not available prior to the start of the program.  You will be given one letter at no cost. Additional letters are available by request at the front desk of the English Language Institute at a cost of $15.75.  Information on the Confirmation of Enrolment Letters matches the information in your Student Portal so be sure to update your contact information.

 

Transportation:

 

Commuting by Bus

Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology students save 20% on monthly bus passes if a PEGGO card is purchased at the Institute. PEGGO cards can be purchased at the front desk of the English Language Institute.  A Student ID Card is required to purchase and use a PEGGO card. The ELI is accessible by routes78, 94, 180 & 181. Please visit Winnipeg Transit to plan your commute.

 

Parking

There is a cost of $25 per month for parking at each campus.  Parking passes must be purchased online – see attached Parking Information. Parking space is limited. Overflow parking is available on adjacent streets. Students are not allowed to park in any spot marked “Reserved” or “Visitor”. Accessible parking spots are available at all campuses.
